AMI exhibited at the Seoul Food & Hotel exhibition in Korea last week. The show was well attended by a broad spectrum of food and beverage industry professionals in retail, catering and industrial sales channels. With the Korea — US Free Trade Agreement (KORUS) nearly finalized, AMI’s client found a very positive response to their products among Korean buyers looking for unique food items at competitive prices. Food safety issues have also spurred Korean interest in US suppliers, which have a high-quality perception worldwide. Previously Japan had been the preferred source for food ingredients and additives, however, with increasing concerns over possible contamination from the nuclear crisis in Japan, many manufacturers are looking to the US to fill this need. AMI expects brisk export sales to Korea for our clients.
